Umbilical reel for deep sea water jet cutting

Unique reel project dedicated to subsea abrasive cutting works. The reel is mostly used for cutting oil well heads that are not in use any- more. 

Strict requirements were set by the client as the reel is intended to be used in harsh, sea, environments. Challenge was to design light, yet various offshore standards complying with, frame and reel drum that can handle heavyweight umbilical. Close work with the umbilical manufacturer was a key to achieving this (umbilical was custom-designed to fit high-pressure lines and electrical cables).
