​Jodel D19 aircraft cowl for Rotax 912 engine

​Designed with requirements for air intake/engine cooling in mind. The cowl is manufactured from carbon fiber + epoxy resin materials, giving the ultra-light and rigid structure. The plug for mold is machined from foam using the MMC CNC machine.

Here are some pictures of the manufacturing process. The designed cowl was split into many pieces as the CNC machine used to machine the parts were too small to take the work in a few takes. After machining, the parts were glued together resulting in the uniform component.
